European giants enter race to sign Manchester United and Chelsea transfer target Michael Olise - Reports
Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly set to face competition for the signature of Michael Olise from the likes Bayern Munich and Newcastle United. As per journalist David Ornstein, both sides have gotten in touch with Crystal Palace regarding the availability of their priced asset.
Olise has become one of the most coveted players in Europe following his exploits for Crystal Palace last season. The Frenchman enjoyed a solid campaign for Oliver Glasner's side, contributing with 10 goals and six assists in 19 appearances.
Despite missing 21 games through injuries, Olise's stock has risen thanks to his showings whenever he has been fit. The France under-21 particularly caught the eye in the closing stages of the season.
Manchester United and Chelsea have been strongly linked with the 22-year-old in recent weeks. The two Premier League outfits have been long-term admirers of the Frenchman but are now set to face competition from Bayern Munich and Newcastle United.
As claimed by Ornstein, both sides have gotten in touch with Olise's representatives while also approaching Crystal Palace.
Chelsea were close to landing Olise last summer in a £35 million deal but the winger ended up staying at Selhurst Park. The 22-year-old was formerly in the youth ranks of the Blues while also playing for Arsenal and Manchester City as an academy graduate.
Manchester United have also been linked with Olise for a while now as they look to add more quality on the flanks, The likes of Antony and Jadon Sancho have both been underwhelming while Mason Greenwood's future remains up in the air.

Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly decided to put an end to negotiations with Manchester United. With Erik ten Hag's future yet to be decided, the German was reportedly considered among the options to replace him.
Tuchel is currently without a job since parting ways with Bayern Munich in the summer following a forgettable season. However, as per Fabrizio Romano, the former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) manager is looking to take a break from management.
As per reports, Tuchel held talks with Manchester United's new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. He is said to be happy with the talks but is not keen on taking the job and wants a break.
Tuchel was in charge of Chelsea between January 2021 and September 2022 and led the Blues UEFA Champions League success. However, he was shown the exit door by the new owners at Stamford Bridge due to disagreements in recruitment.
