Football agent claims Chelsea are among 3 clubs looking to sign Serie A star this summer
Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in the summer.
Vlahovic joined Juventus from Fiorentina for €80 million in January 2022. The Serbian has scored 14 goals and has provided four assists in 41 games across competitions for the Old Lady this season.
According to agent Massimo Brambati, Juventus are looking to recover the money they spent on the striker a year and a half ago. Hence, a summer move could be on the cards for Vlahovic.
Brambati recently told Tutto Mercato Web Radio:
“There are three teams that showed up. In my opinion, Juve will take these offers seriously. All of them have an important profile, because they’re Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid."
He further added:
“I don’t know if the capital gain will be made, but after a year and a half of Vlahovic they’ve already amortised a year’s gross salary and a good part of the amount invested too.”
Chelsea have had a very underwhelming campaign this term. One of the main issues for the team has been finding the back of the net. They have scored only 36 goals in 35 Premier League games this season.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks set to leave in the summer, having scored just thrice in 22 appearances since joining from Barcelona last summer. Meanwhile, Armando Broja has failed to make an impact, making just 18 appearances. Romelu Lukaku is currently on loan at Inter Milan and looks likely to extend his stay.
Hence, Chelsea need to sign a new striker in the summer. Apart from Vlahovic, the Blues have also been linked with Napoli's Nigerian ace Victor Osimhen.
Frank Lampard claimed he wanted to sign Erling Haaland at Chelsea
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been the world's most prolific goalscorer this season. The Norwegian has scored 36 Premier League goals, a competition record in the League's 38-game format.
Lampard has now revealed that he was keen to sign the Norwegian attacker for the Blues during his stint as permanent manager between 2019 and 2021. Speaking ahead of the Blues' clash against Manchester City on May 21, he said (via the club's website):
"I’ve got huge respect for him, he’s a player I tried to bring to Chelsea the first time I was here. Obviously that couldn’t happen, but his level at that point was very clear as well, we played against him in a pre-season game with Salzburg and he was fantastic."
He added:
"So credit to him, I love seeing players at that level, I love seeing players with that personality and level of hunger to play and be the best, which he’s proven himself to be."
Lampard, though, will have to make his team ready to deal with Haaland's threat on Sunday when they face Manchester City. The Blues have won just one of their previous 11 games across competitions.
