Hansi Flick wants Barcelona to sign 2020 Champions League winner in attempt to strengthen attack: Reports

Incoming Barcelona manager Hansi Flick reportedly wants to sign Bayern Munich attacker Kingsley Coman in the summer transfer window.

The German tactician will be well aware of the France international's attributes, given the winger played under him, when the former was in Munich. According to El Nacional, Coman and Joshua Kimmich are among the priority signings for the Catalans this summer.

However, it is believed that the 27-year-old's signing will not be easy, with the player more than happy to remain in Germany. With Coman's current contract running out only in the summer of 2027, it is stated that a transfer for him will cost about €65 million.

As a result, Flick's only option is not the French winger, with Barcelona also said to be looking at Athletic Club's Nico Williams. However, the ex-Juventus man is fairly experienced, having achieved most things in club football.

He bagged Bayern Munich's winning goal in the 1-0 Champions League final victory over Paris Saint-Germain in 2020. Coman also has eight Bundesliga titles to his name, among other honors with the Bavarian side.

Overall, he's played 294 matches across competitions for Bayern Munich, bagging 63 goals and 66 assists. Despite his club failing to register silverware this campaign, it seems likely that Coman would wish to remain in Munich over moving to Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are going through a rebuild and also failed to win the La Liga or UEFA Champions League this season.

Barcelona will not have an easy path to signing Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, with Bayern Munich also entering the race for the attacker's signature. The Spain international's current contract runs till 2027, and his current market value stands at €60 million (via Barca Universal).

According to this report, the Blaugrana do not have the funds to move for Williams, which may prompt the club to sell one of their attackers. Raphinha, who has been lacklustre since coming to Camp Nou, is considered one such player who could be let go of.

This season, Williams has made 31 appearances across competitions, bagging eight goals and 17 assists. With Lamine Yamal operating on the right-hand side, the 21-year-old would have to contend with Ferran Torres and potentially Raphinha for a spot on the left.

He managed to win the Copa del Rey with Athletic Club this year, where his team beat Mallorca on penalties (4-2).
