How much will Manchester United reportedly shell out as agent fees if they complete Joshua Zirkzee deal?
Manchester United have reportedly jumped to the front of the queue of suitors for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee after holding talks with his representatives. The Red Devils will have to pay around €12 million to his agent before a deal can be struck for the 23-year-old, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Former Bayern Munich starlet Zirkzee became one of the most sought-after players in Europe after an impressive season with Bologna. The Dutchman helped his club reach the UEFA Champions League, scoring 12 times in Serie A for Thiago Motta's side.
AC Milan reportedly approached Bologna for the striker, who has a €40 million release clause, immediately after the season ended. They agreed to trigger his clause, but negotiations with his representatives fell through, eventually.
In a bid to avoid a similar situation, The Athletic has claimed that Manchester United have chosen to begin talks with his agent Kia Joorabchian. As per Di Marzio, AC Milan were willing to pay only €8 million to the agent, which was why the deal fell through.
The Red Devils were first linked with Zirkzee in the January transfer window but decided against moving for the Dutchman. The striker is currently in Germany with the Netherlands for Euro 2024 and Erik ten Hag's side are expected to keep a close eye on him.
