BREAKING: Barcelona agree deal to sign Manchester City target - Reports

FC Barcelona have reportedly agreed a deal with RB Leipzig to sign Dani Olmo. The 26-year-old was the subject of interest to many clubs including Manchester City but it looks like the 5-time European champions have won the race to his signature.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barca and Leipzig have a verbal agreement in place to sign the Spain international for a deal worth an initial €55 million, rising to €62 million including add-ons. The Spaniard has also reportedly agreed to a 6-year deal to become the club's second signing of the summer after Pau Victor.

Famed journalist Fabrizio Romano has given a "here we go" to the transfer. This breaking report comes on the back of reports that Deco had met with Olmo's agent earlier today.

Olmo had already decided his destination amidst Barcelona rumours

The forward, who starred in Spain's victorious Euro 2024 campaign, had earlier clarified that he is clear who he wants to join next out of the "several options" he had in front of him.

When he was asked about the Catalan club, he mentioned that he had made his decision clear to his agent.

"There are several options, the people who manage my affairs know what I want, as I said,” Olmo said to reporters after the Euros (via GOAL). "What I want is to be in a place where I am valued and the most important thing for me is to win, I am very ambitious."

Barcelona were also looking at another Spain winger, Athletic Bilbao's mercurial winger, Nico Williams, to bolster their attacking options.

Barca President Joan Laporta had earlier told reporters that they were going to try signing the 22-year-old, saying:

"We're going to try. He's good, eh?"

It remains to be seen if Barcelona continue pushing for Williams' signature if they confirm the signing of his international teammate.
