Jose Mourinho wants Fenerbahce to sign two Manchester United stars: Reports

Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in adding Manchester United pair Casemiro and Victor Lindelof to his Fenerbahce squad this summer.

The Red Devils, who finished eighth in the 2023-24 Premier League standings last campaign, are currently in the process of overhauling their squad. Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are set to leave at the end of their deals, while a host of stars are likely to be sold.

Manchester United, who are believed to be keen to sign a new centre-back, could sell Lindelof to rake in cash this summer. They are also interested in parting ways with Casemiro ahead of the next campaign.

Now, according to Turkish sports outlet SporX, Fenerbahce sporting director Mario Branco is working hard to meet Mourinho's demands this summer. The Portuguese manager is keen to reunite with Lindelof, who he signed for Manchester United for £30 million in 2017. Fenerbahce are hoping to finalise a deal worth £8.5 million for the Swede.

Lindelof, whose current contract is set to expire in June 2025, played in 28 games across all competitions for his team last season. The 29-year-old centre-back just started 20 outings, netting once in the process.

Meanwhile, the Turkish giants have also enquired about Casemiro, who struggled in his second campaign at the Old Trafford club. Branco has reportedly asked Erik ten Hag's outfit for their asking price and should the fee is affordable, Fenerbahce would launch a move.

Casemiro, 32, failed to shine both as a holding midfielder and a temporary centre-back last season. However, he managed to score five times and contributed three assists in 32 appearances for the Red Devils.

Manchester United enter race to sign striker

In his Daily Briefing column for Caught Offside, journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that the Red Devils have entered the fray to lure striker Joshua Zirkzee away from Bologna. He wrote:

"Manchester United have now made an enquiry – it's not advanced, still early stages, but they are informed on Zirkzee deal details since last week. They've asked for information on the release clause details and potential salary package. AC Milan have agreed on personal terms and they want to pay the [£34 million release] clause, but they’ve still no agreement with his agent on commission."

Zirkzee, 23, helped Bologna finish fifth in the 2023-24 Serie A table and registered 12 goals and seven assists in 37 matches last campaign.

The former Bayern Munich striker is currently with Netherlands men's national side at the UEFA Euro 2024, but is yet to come off the bench.
