LaLiga club set to make move for Barcelona star Ansu Fati in January - Reports

LaLiga side Sevilla are reportedly set to make a move for Barcelona winger Ansu Fati in January. As per SPORT (via Tribal Football), Los Nervionenses are preparing a loan move for the Spain international who has struggled for playing time this season.

The report claims that Sevilla manager Francisco Javier García Pimienta is keen on reuniting with the fleet-footed winger. He formerly worked with the youngster in Barcelona's academy and is said to be ready to offer Fati a chance to revive his career.

Sevilla were reportedly interested in Fati in the summer too, but could not agree a deal with Barcelona. They were reportedly willing to pay only 30 percent of his wages back then and are now ready to make an improved offer in January.

The seven-time Europa League champions' interest in Fati was revived after Chidera Ejuke's injury setback. Barca could also be willing to accept a loan deal for the 21-year-old, who has been down in Hansi Flick's pecking order.

Fati made waves at a young age at Camp Nou and looked destined for the very top, but his progress has been halted by multiple injuries. Over the years, he has missed 109 games with various injury problems for the Catalan giants.

The winger spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, but it was a forgettable spell. He scored four times and produced one assist in 27 appearances for the Seagulls while missing 14 games with injuries.

Fati has played just 132 minutes of football this season and with Barcelona scoring for fun under Flick, another loan move could benefit his career. He has made a total of 117 appearances for La Blaugrana till date, scoring 29 goals and providing 10 assists.

Barcelona rule out move for highly regarded goalkeeper: Reports

Barcelona have reportedly decided against making a move for FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa. La Blaugrana have reportedly been in the hunt for a new keeper who could become a long-term starter at the club.

As reported by Spanish outlet SPORT, Costa emerged as one of their top targets to replace Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the long run. However, La Blaugrana have reportedly communicated to Costa's agent Jorge Mendes that they won't be making a move for the 25-year-old.

Porto reportedly value Costa at €45 million, which is proving to be a stumbling block for Barcelona amid their financial struggles. Costa is widely regarded as one of the best young keepers on the planet boasting plenty of experience at the highest level.

Costa has made 167 appearances for Porto till date, keeping 71 clean sheets while conceding just 142 goals. He is also capped 31 times for Portugal already and has conceded only 21 goals while keeping 16 clean sheets.
