Liverpool enter talks with Brazil international over move to replace Mohamed Salah at Anfield: Reports
Liverpool have reportedly started talks to sign Barcelona star Raphinha as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah in the 2025 summer window. Salah's future has been a hot topic for discussion since the start of the 2024-25 season as he is now in the final year of his contract with the Reds.
Journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed that Liverpool have set their sights on Raphinha if they fail to reach an agreement over a contract extension for Salah. They have identified an opportunity in Barcelona's financial instability, and will look to push for the transfer of the Brazil international.
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is in the final six months of his contract at Anfield and has not signed an extension with the club. The 32-year-old will be allowed to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club from January 1 and join them as a free agent at the end of the season.
The Reds have reportedly submitted an opening offer over an extension for Salah, who has scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in the league this season. They intend to keep the Egypt international but are putting contingencies in place if he doesn't extend his deal.
Raphinha has put out Salah-like numbers for Barcelona this season and appears to be rejuvenated under Hansi Flick. The 28-year-old former Leeds United man has 17 goals and 10 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions for La Blaugrana this term.
Liverpool considering sensational swoop for Premier League captain - Reports
Liverpool are considering a move to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in 2025, as per a report from the Sunday Mirror. The Eagles appear to have accepted that the centre-back will leave the club in 2025, but will not allow him to leave in January.
Guehi has been in demand since starring in England's run to the Euro 2024 final. The 24-year-old was reportedly the subject of a series of summer approaches from Newcastle United, with Palace rejecting offers of up to £65 million.
Liverpool have not yet signed a replacement for Joel Matip, who left the club in the summer as a free agent. The club appear to be keen on Chelsea academy graduate Guehi, whose age and quality make him a huge asset.
