Liverpool interested in signing €45m-rated Bundesliga star to replace Mohamed Salah: Reports

Liverpool have reportedly set sights on signing Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi as the replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Reds are aware that the Egyptian could leave next summer and are looking for the targets.

As per a report in TEAMtalk, Adeyemi will be available for around €45 million. Liverpool see the German as the ideal player to take over from Salah and also save massively on wages.

Reports suggest the Egyptian earns around £350,000 per week at Anfield. Adeyemi is on £80,000 per week at Borussia Dortmund and that would see them reduce the wages by over 40%.

Gabriel Agbonlahor was on talkSPORT and stated that the Egyptian will be leaving Liverpool next summer. Claiming that the Reds star will earn more than Cristiano Ronaldo, he said:

“I know Salah’s going."

The former Premier League man didn’t name a specific club but claimed that Salah will sign a record deal in Saudi. He said:

"I’ve got a source that told me Salah’s definitely going. Saudi, on a record contract. I’m hearing that he will earn more than [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he’ll be the face of the football over there. You can’t turn that down if you’re Mo Salah. He’s done everything at Liverpool hasn’t he? I think he would have signed a new contract by now [if he was staying], and it’s an offer he can’t turn down."

Mohamed Salah is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool and has not been offered a new deal. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are also in the same category at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah hints at Liverpool exit at the end of the season

Mohamed Salah spoke about his Liverpool future earlier this season and admitted that he could be on the move. He added that the club are yet to offer him a new deal and as things stand, it is his final year at Anfield.

He told Sky Sports:

"I had a good summer, a long time to stay with myself and think positively a bit. As you know, this is my last year with the club and I want to enjoy it. I don’t want to think about it; I feel I am free to play football - we will see what happens next year.
"To be fair I was coming to the game, it could be the last time [playing at Old Trafford]. Nobody in the club has talked to me about contracts. It is not up to me, it is up to the club."

Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Anthony Gordon and Rodrygo as the possible replacements for Salah next summer.
