Liverpool line up potential move for ex-Real Madrid star amid Trent Alexander-Arnold uncertainty: Reports
Liverpool are reportedly lining up a move for former Real Madrid right-back Achraf Hakima amid uncertainty over Trent Alexander-Arnold's future. The Reds find themselves in a tight corner with their vice-captain's current deal expiring next summer.
Liverpool are yet to find any breakthrough in contract negotiations with Alexander-Arnold and it is feared that they could lose him on a free next summer. The England international has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Amid the prospect of losing one of their best players, the Reds have reportedly already started their pursuit of a suitable replacement. As reported by Fichajes.net via Football Talk, they have identified Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) full-back Achraf Hakimi as a potential candidate.
Hakimi, just like Alexander-Arnold, is an attacking-minded right-back and is also of the same age as that of the Englishman. He turns 26 this month while Alexander-Arnold turned 26 last month.
Hakimi came through the youth ranks of Real Madrid but could make only 17 senior appearances for Los Blancos. After catching the eye at Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, he joined PSG in 2021 in a deal worth a reported €70 million.
The Morocco international's current deal at the Parc des Princes expires in the summer of 2026. It is understood that the French giants could cash in on him next summer rather than lose him for nothing in another year. Hakimi has made 130 appearances for PSG while contributing with 16 goals and 12 assists. He has won six trophies during his time at the French capital club including three Ligue 1 titles.
Alexander-Arnold, on the other hand, has spent his entire career at Liverpool having come through the club's youth ranks. He has made 322 appearances for the Merseyside giants to date scoring 19 goals and providing 83 assists winning eight trophies in the process.
Real Madrid could sell Liverpool target: Reports
Real Madrid could reportedly be ready to sell Aurelien Tchouameni following their 4-0 defeat at the hands of rivals Barcelona. Carlo Ancelotti's side suffered a humiliating defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, October 26 and Tchouameni had a poor game.
The Frenchman has established himself as a key player for Real Madrid since his reported €100 million switch from AS Monaco in 2022. He reportedly snubbed an offer from Liverpool to join Los Blancos but could be nearing an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu.
As claimed by Spanish outlet Fichajes.net, Los Blancos are ready to sell the 24-year-old following his below-par performance against Barcelona. They have reportedly slapped a €90 million price tag on the France international with Liverpool and Chelsea believed to be keen.
Tchouameni has made 102 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's side, scoring thrice and providing five assists. He has won seven trophies during his time at the Spanish capital club including one Champions League and one La Liga title.
