Liverpool monitoring on-loan Brentford star ahead of potential summer move: Reports
Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Freiburg forward Kevin Schade, who is on loan at Brentford, ahead of a potential move in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Schade, 21, joined Brentford on a six-month loan deal from Freiburg with an option to buy for £22 million earlier this January. He has laid out one assist in 565 minutes of action for his current club, spread across 16 matches.
Prior to his temporary switch, the two-cap Germany international shot to fame after helping Freiburg finish sixth in the Bundesliga last season. He registered one goal and two assists in 12 games for his parent club this campaign.
According to Todofichajes, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Schade with the intention of signing him ahead of the upcoming 2023-24 season. They are keen to snap him up to fill the void which will be left by Roberto Firmino's exit this summer.
Should Schade seal a permanent move to Jurgen Klopp's outfit, he would provide competition to the likes of Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. He could also step in as a second choice for Mohamed Salah.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank shed light on the former Energie Cottbus man's salient features following his signing for the Gtech Community Stadium side earlier this year. He told club media:
"He can play anywhere across the front three positions. He could play on either wing or as the central striker. He has great pace and is very promising in the way he runs behind defence. He can develop more to be a real threat as an offensive option with his head. We like the way he presses too. He is willing to work very hard for his team."
Overall, the Liverpool target has scored six goals and contributed four assists in 36 games for Freiburg so far.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have sat down with Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister's agents ahead of a potential deal. They have offered the Argentine a contract worth more than £150,000-a-week.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Mac Allister and is keen to add him to his squad before his club's return for pre-season action. The player is also said to be interested in joining the 19-time domestic champions.
Mac Allister, who is on a £50,000-a-week deal at the Amex Stadium, shot to fame due to his brilliant outings at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The 24-year-old helped his side lift the trophy, registering a goal and an assist in six games.
So far this season, Mac Allister has scored 12 goals and laid out two assists in 35 matches for Brighton. His last goal came in his team's shocking 5-1 defeat at the hands of Everton on Monday.
