Liverpool open to selling Tottenham and Newcastle United target - Reports
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool are open to selling Tottenham Hotspur target Joe Gomez. Spurs reportedly inquired about Gomez on multiple occasions during the January transfer window.
The Reds also tried to use Gomez as a part of their pursuit of Anthony Gordon but a deal with Newcastle United could not be struck.
Joe Gomez, 27, is an England international and is an experienced defender in the Premier League, making him an attractive prospect for Tottenham. While Spurs signed Radu Dragusin in January 2024, they are open to adding further reinforcements.
Liverpool reportedly want a big fee to sell Gomez, valuing him at £45 million. This could see them make a £41.5 million profit as Gomez was signed for £41.5 million from Charlton Athletic in 2015.
Since his move to the Merseyside club, Gomez has so far made 224 appearances for the Reds. He has won eight titles with the Reds, including the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and other honors.
Liverpool urged to sign former Premier League winger
Former Liverpool forward Jermaine Pennant has urged the Reds to sign Leroy Sane. The former Manchester City winger recently entered the final year of his contract with current club Bayern Munich. The Germany international has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Pennant has urged the Reds to pursue a move for the pacey winger. He told Coin Parker (via Bavarian Football Works):
"You need someone with experience to replace Mohamed Salah, like Leroy Sane. For me, that would be a great signing, he has pace, he cuts in on his right or left. When he played at the Emirates, he was absolutely unreal, he tore Arsenal apart."
Sane, 28, previously had a notable stint with Manchester City. He scored 39 goals and provided 43 assists in 135 appearances for the Cityzens. Since his 2020 move to Bayern, Sane has bagged 48 goals and 50 assists in 175 appearances.
