Liverpool plotting surprise move Chelsea star chosen as Mohamed Salah replacement: Reports
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Chelsea's Mykhaylo Mudryk as a potential replacement for their star forward Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian winger's contract for The Reds expires in 2025 along with players like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Mykhaylo Mudryk's stay at Chelsea till now has been underwhelming at best. The Ukrainian forward joined his current club from Shakhtar Donetsk for a reported price of £88.5 million in the summer of 2023. He has just scored seven goals and laid out six assists for Enzo Maresca's side in 64 appearances across competitions.

According to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool are looking for players who can fill Mohamed Salah's shoes and Mudryk is one of the top contenders. The report also states that The Reds are willing to splurge around €35 million for the attacker but the overall deal could rise to almost €50 million.
Mudryk's current contract for Chelsea has him earning a reported £150,000-a-week and will expire in 2031.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah has had a great start to the last season of his current contract. In eight games for Liverpool across competitions, the Egyptian has scored five goals and laid out four assists.
Salah recently talked about his contractual situation after Liverpool's 3-0 win over Manchester United at the Old Trafford on August 31. During the interview, he mentioned that it was his last year at Liverpool (via Sky Sports).
"I had a good summer; I had a long time to stay with myself and think positive, as you know it's my last year in the club. I just want to enjoy it. I don't want to think about it -- I feel I'm free to play football and we'll see what happens next year," said the Egyptian.
