Liverpool receive enquiry over Mohamed Salah transfer from 2 European giants amid uncertainty over new contract: Reports

Liverpool have reportedly received enquiries for star forward Mohamed Salah from two European giants with the Egyptian currently in the final 10 months of his Reds contract.

Salah, who turned 32 earlier this July, has recently emerged as the talk of the town with his deal set to expire next June. He is yet to receive a new contract offer and he has remained tight-lipped about his situation.

Following Liverpool's 3-0 Premier League away victory against Manchester United on September 1, the forward told reporters (h/t BBC):

"I was coming to the game, I was saying, 'Look, it could be the last time'. Nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts so I was just like, 'Okay, I play my last season and see at the end of the season'. I feel I am free to play football – we will see what happens next year."

Now, according to Catalan website El Nacional, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have both enquired about Salah of late. Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad could also reignite their interest in the wide operator.

The Anfield outfit, who last handed Salah a contract renewal in 2022, are allegedly reluctant to keep hold of the former Chelsea man. They believe that improving the 32-year-old's reported £350,000-a-week wage could cause unrest in their dressing room in the future.

Salah, who arrived from Serie A club AS Roma for close to £37 million in 2017, has helped Liverpool win eight trophies so far. He has scored 214 goals and registered 92 assists in 352 overall outings for his team.

The left-footed star will next feature for Arne Slot's team in their home league clash against Nottingham Forest this Saturday (September 14).

Liverpool defender makes emphatic claim

Speaking to The Times, Liverpool centre-back Jarell Quansah revealed his wish to pop up as one of the best players in his position in the future. He elaborated (h/t X/@FabrizioRomano):

"I want to be the best defender in Europe one day. I'm up against the best centre-halves in the world at Liverpool, in my opinion. I think I'll have to be one of the best centre-halves in Europe if I'm starting."

Quansah, 21, has cemented himself as a key squad member for his club since his debut past August. He has bagged three goals and laid out as many assists in 34 overall appearances for his boyhood club so far.

So far this campaign, Quansah has made just one appearance.
