Liverpool set to face competition from PL rivals Chelsea for £59m-rated star: Reports

According to Tutto Juve, Liverpool and Chelsea are tangled in a transfer battle for Juventus defender Gleison Bremer. Clubs like Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also touted as interested parties for the Brazil international.

The Merseysiders are set to start a new era under Arne Slot. Joel Matip's departure has opened the door for a new centre-back signing. Bremer has emerged as a top target for Liverpool.

Juventus, however, would reportedly ask for £59 million to sanction a sale. The Old Lady are under no pressure to sell Bremer as the Brazilian is contracted until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Bremer has been at Juve since 2022 and has so far made 83 appearances for the Bianconeri. He has played five games for Brazil but is yet to make an appearance during the ongoing Copa America 2024.

He is a highly rated player and the Reds' interest is not surprising. Chelsea are also interested and given the intent of two other European giants like Bayern and United, the bidding battle for Bremer could soon heat up.

Gleison Bremer has addressed top clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool's interest

Gleison Bremer has claimed he is flattered to know that several top clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in him. The Brazilian, though, is focused on Copa America 2024 and claimed he'd leave the matter to his agents.

Bremer added that he is happy to stay at Juventus and doesn't plan to leave the Serie A giants anytime soon. He told AS (via The Boot Room):

"Of course, I have read some things and I am happy to know that clubs with so much history are following me, but the truth is that I will talk about it with my agents after the Copa America."

Bremer, though, confirmed his commitment to Juventus, saying:

"Little by little we are helping Juventus to return to being a protagonist and to fight for great objectives. I sincerely hope that next season will be a great joy for all of us, players and fans."

Bremer won the Serie A Defender of the Year in 2022 and was in the Team of the Season last term. The bright form has put him on the radar of multiple top Premier League sides.
