Liverpool show interest in Juventus star after he is left out of pre-season preparation; face competition from PSG - Reports
According to Italian sports newspaper TuttoSport, Liverpool have shown interest in Juventus centre-back Dean Huijsen, who has been left out of the Old Lady's pre-season campaign. Clubs like Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are also in the hunt for the 19-year-old's signature.
Huijsen, a Netherlands-born Spanish youth international, spent the 2023-24 season on loan at AS Roma. As per Sport Italia, Huijsen, who made 26 appearances across all competitions last season, has been removed from Juve's pre-season squad.
TuttoJuve earlier reported that PSG have agreed to a deal until 2029 for Huijsen. The Parisians, however, reportedly offered a €20 million sum, whereas Juventus are holding out for a fee of €30 million.
Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested in the centre-back and are reportedly taking steps to conclude a deal. Liverpool have also entered the race with clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle United, Bayer Leverkusen, VFB Stuttgart, and RB Leipzig cited as potential suitors.
The Merseysiders are starting a new era under Arne Slot after Jurgen Klopp's departure at the end of the last season. They have been linked with several defenders, as Slot looks to reinforce his ranks.
Joel Matip has left the club and Virgil van Dijk is approaching his mid-30s. A young defender like Huijsen could significantly help the Reds in the coming season. He could also be a useful player in the future.
Liverpool face problem in Marc Guehi pursuit: Reports
According to The Guardian via Mirror, Crystal Palace hold a firm stance on Liverpool target Marc Guehi's transfer fee. Palace reportedly want £70 million for Guehi, who was a mainstay at the heart of England's defense during Euro 2024.
Guehi started all the games except the Euro quarter-final against Switzerland, as he was suspended for that game. The 24-year-old has become John Stones' partner for the Three Lions. He played a total of 570 minutes throughout the competition and made six tackles, recovered 44 balls, and had a passing accuracy of 92.67 percent.
Guehi has shown that apart from defending, he is also a good passer of the ball, making him a wanted commodity. However, Palace's stance on the player's transfer price has made it difficult for the Merseysiders to conclude a move.
