Manchester City keeping tabs on 24-year-old Premier League star ahead of a potential summer move: ReportsĀ

Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as they look to bolster their defence in the coming transfer windows. According to the Daily Mail, the Eagles man was unable to secure a move to Newcastle United after being linked with a transfer to the Tyneside outfit this summer.

The England international is a bright prospect who could serve as a long-term option at the Etihad Stadium. He has two years left on his contract, and if the Cityzens look to sign him in 2025, Crystal Palace may be forced to sell.

Guehi will only have a year left on his deal next summer and the Eagles will not want him to run down his contract and walk away for free in 2026. Although a move to Manchester may seem tempting, a starting spot in Pep Guardiola's defence is far from guaranteed.

The likes of Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias, and John Stones are already fighting for minutes in central defensive positions. This means Guehi will have to do extremely well to ensure regular game time.

To date, he's made 115 appearances across competitions for Crystal Palace, bagging five goals and two assists. A move to Manchester City will see Guehi most likely compete for top honors like the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

Most recently, he featured for the Eagles in their 1-1 league draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on September 1.

Manchester City and Arsenal are reportedly set to provide competition to Real Madrid as they look to sign Alphonso Davies in the summer of 2025. With only a year left on his deal, the Canada international will become a free agent by then.

As per HITC, Davies has decided he leave the Bavarian outfit and rejected several new contractual offers from the club this summer (via CaughtOffSide). This will certainly fill fans at the Etihad with hope, with the club lacking a purely attack-minded left-back.

Josko Gvardiol currently occupies that space, a player who was primarily considered to be a central defender. Apart from Gavrdiol, Ake, who isn't the most attacking full-back, plays the part.

Davies has made 197 appearances across competitions for Bayern Munich, bagging 11 goals and 31 assists. He's won five Bundesliga titles and a UEFA Champions League trophy, among others at the Allianz Arena.
