Manchester City keeping tabs on Real Madrid target amid staggering €150m transfer interest: Reports
Manchester City are keeping tabs on Bayern Munich playmaker Jamal Musiala, who is also on the radar for Real Madrid. The English giants are looking for ways to keep improving their squad, despite winning the Premier League four times in a row. This has led them to mark Musiala as their next marquee signing, as per a report from Fichajes.net.
The report revealed that City sent their scouts to the Allianz Arena to watch him play in Bayern Munich's 1-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League on November 6. Musiala notably scored the only goal of that game, which will have been a delight to the scouts who reportedly had their eyes on him.
The 21-year-old playmaker has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 14 games this season. City boss Pep Guardiola is said to see him as a potential replacement to Kevin De Bruyne, who could leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.
However, Manchester City aren't the only interested club, as Real Madrid have also set their sights on the Germany international. Los Blancos might have a more difficult time convincing Musiala on joining their sporting project, though. With the club's impressive depth of young attacking players, he might struggle to replace any first-team player in his position.
Bayern Munich will have the final say on whether Jamal Musiala gets to leave their club for a fee. It is unlikely that they will be willing to let such a young, exciting player leave the Allianz Arena, but Manchester City and Real Madrid have fairly deep pockets. Musiala is rated at €150 million (via Fichajes.net), but with his contract expiring in 2026, there may be a discount by the summer of 2025.
Could Real Madrid sign Manchester City talisman Rodri amid Anfield interest in Los Blancos midfielder?
Reports from journalist Sacha Tavolieri (via GOAL) have revealed that Liverpool have shown strong interest in Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The Reds are believed to have reached out to his entourage to discuss a potential move to England.
This comes amid interest from the Santiago Bernabeu in Manchester City's talismanic midfielder Rodri. If the 28-year-old Ballon d'Or winner potentially leaves the Etihad Stadium for Spain's capital, this could affect Tchouameni's playing time at the club. Rodri would also be an expensive player, which means Madrid may look to offload Tchouameni to make the deal happen.
Rodri is currently injured, and will be out of contention for much of the season. Real Madrid will have to wait and monitor his progress in the coming months to determine if they retain their interest in the Manchester City midfielder. This could potentially affect Liverpool's move for Tchouameni, as the Bernabeu will not want to reduce their midfield depth without a replacement.
