Manchester City offer 2 players to Newcastle United on loan in deal to sign Arsenal target - Reports

Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer two players to Newcastle United on loan, as they prepare a bid to sign Bruno Guimaraes, who is on Arsenal's radar. The 26-year-old is one of the Magpies' most exciting players, but he is set to enter the final year of his contract. This has raised interest from different quarters, with the Premier League's best clubs in the race for his services.

Guimaraes finished the domestic season with seven goals and eight assists in 37 appearances for Newcastle. He spoke about his future in a conversation with TNT Sports, saying (via Football London):

"Look, my future, to be honest, is in God's hands... Obviously it's very nice to have your name linked with big clubs, it shows that I'm doing my job well, but I'm not worried about it at all... I'm not in any hurry, I'm happy, and it's up to God, let's see what happens."

According to a report from Daily Star (via TBR Football), Manchester City are making serious strides in their push to sign the Tyneside-based midfielder. They are prepared to loan out Oscar Bobb and Rico Lewis to the Magpies, while paying £80 million to convince them to let Guimaraes go.

The Brazilian midfielder is reportedly worth £100 million, but two exciting youngsters included in the deal might just be enough for Newcastle. This will bring some concern for Arsenal who, prior to the interest from City, were thought to be the front-runners in the race for the 26-year-old's signature.

Manchester City not in the race for Arsenal youngster

The Cityzens might be beating the Gunners at the race to sign Bruno Guimaraes, but Pep Guardiola's side have not set their sights on any player from their camp. Notably, a number of clubs are looking at Arsenal forward Chido Obi Martin, but Manchester City are "not in the race" to sign him.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who provided an update on the youngster, alongside the Cityzens' decision to dismiss any potential moves for him. The transfer journalist said:

"Arsenal consider Chido Obi Martin gone, despite big proposal from AFC, he's leaving the club. Chido visited Manchester United as they're pushing to sign him. Bayern, Newcastle, Monaco, Frankfurt also made contact; decision expected soon. Man City, not in the race."

The Gunners will be hoping that they can hold onto Obi Martin, who happens to be one of the most exciting 16-year-old players in their youth team. Other clubs will likely continue to make a push to become the place he turns professional at, but it won't be Manchester City.
