Manchester City plotting €60m move for 25-year-old Bundesliga star wanted by Liverpool: Reports
Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush, as they consider him a potential alternative for Erling Haaland. Marmoush has caught the eyes of top European clubs following his brilliant start to the 2024-25 season.
According to Fichajes.net, Manchester City have set their sights on Omar Marmoush. The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form in the Bundesliga this season, having scored 10 goals and provided six assists in nine games. This seems to have caught the attention of Manchester City.
City were relatively quiet in the summer transfer window as they only made two additions to the squad. Haaland’s competitor Julian Alvarez left City for Atletico Madrid in the summer, and it seems that the Premier League outfit are now looking for a player to replace the Argentine striker.
While Haaland currently tops the scoring charts in the Premier League this season, he has endured a dip in form recently. Marmoush, on the other hand, has already notched up a stunning 12 goals and nine assists in 14 outings across competitions this season.
Meanwhile, City’s Premier League rivals Liverpool are also reportedly interested in Omar Marmoush. Mohamed Salah’s contract will expire at the end of the season, and they are considering the 25-year-old as his replacement.
While Marmoush’s current market value is €40 million as per Transfermarkt, Manchester City are reportedly plotting €60 million to sign the Egypt international from Eintracht Frankfurt. Marmoush joined Frankfurt from VfL Wolfsburg in 2023. Up to date, he has scored 29 goals and provided 15 assists for Frankfurt in 55 outings across competitions.
