Manchester City ready to part ways with superstar for meagre €20m fee - Reports
Manchester City are reportedly keen on selling fullback Joao Cancelo this summer. They have also reduced his transfer fee to garner offers from interested clubs.
Cancelo has become an outcast at the Etihad following a reported fallout with manager Pep Guardiola. He spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Bayern Munich, where he registered one goal and six assists in 21 appearances. The Bavarians, however, refused to trigger his buy option.
The Portugal international then joined Barcelona on a season-long loan last summer. He made 42 appearances across competitions, scoring four goals and providing five assists. He played in different positions and as per Goal, Barca want to sign him again this summer.
However, Manchester City's previous asking price put them off and they were looking for another loan deal. As per Sport, the Cityzens have now lowered Cancelo's price and are ready to sell him for just €20 million. They notably signed him from Juventus for €65 million in 2019.
The Portuguese fullback has made 154 appearances for Manchester City, recording nine goals and 21 assists to his name. His contract expires in 2027. As per Football Espana, Juventus, Inter Milan and Saudi Pro League sides are also interested in signing Cancelo.
Manchester City and Barcelona interested in Spanish midfielder: Reports
As per 90min, Manchester City and Barcelona are among a number of clubs interested in signing Spain midfielder Dani Olmo this summer.
Olmo has been brilliant for La Roja at the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 where they have reached the final. He's scored three goals and provided two assists in five games in the tournament. He also scored the winning goal in the semi-finals against France after Lamine Yamal (21') canceled Randal Kolo Muani's (9') opener.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Olmo's release clause worth €60 million expires on Monday, July 15. Hence, interested clubs will need to work quickly to sign him at that price. RB Leipzig are expected to ask in excess of €75-80 million once the deadline for the release clause is over.
Olmo, 26, has scored 29 goals and contributed 34 assists in 148 games for Leipzig since arriving from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2020.
