Manchester City star rejects PSG as Real Madrid and Barcelona interest continues - Reports

Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has reportedly rejected Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) amidst interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid. He could leave England next summer and move to Spain.

Haaland has been one of football's biggest names since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of €60 million in 2022. He helped City win the treble in his debut season, breaking multiple records. He's scored 101 goals and provided 14 assists in 108 games for them across competitions.

Hence, it's natural that the Norwegian striker has garnered plenty of attention from Europe's top clubs. As per El Nacional, PSG offered Haaland a multi-million proposal but the striker has rejected it. He wants to potentially move to Spain instead of joining the Parisians.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the striker for a while now. Barca are looking for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is now 36 years old. Sporting director Deco has kept a close eye on Haaland and signing him would be a dream move for the club.

However, he is likely to cost a fortune. Haaland's contract with Manchester City expires in 2027 and as per Transfermarkt, his market value is €200 million. Real Madrid have shown an interest in signing him despite bringing in Kylian Mbappe in the summer.

Real Madrid and Barcelona to welcome stars from injury ahead of El Clasico

The first El Clasico of the season is almost upon us. Real Madrid will host arch-rivals Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu in LaLiga on October 26 (Saturday). It is set to be a crucial match, not just for the rivalry but also in terms of the league positions. The Blaugrana currently lead the table and sit three points above Los Blancos. Meanwhile, both sides are set to welcome some important players back from injuries ahead of the big clash.

Brahim Diaz, who has been out since September 15 due to a hamstring injury, could return for El Clasico. Some initial reports suggested that he could be out for longer but as per AS, his recovery process is going well. Diaz scored one goal and provided one assist in six games across competitions this season before his injury.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are preparing for the return of Dani Olmo. They signed him from RB Leipzig in the summer but he's made just three appearances for them so far. However, he scored a goal in each of those games. He's also been out since last month but could return in time for El Clasico, as per Football Espana.
