Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood subject of shock interest from European giants: Reports
European giants Borussia Dortmund have emerged as admirers of Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood. As per The Daily Mail, the Champions League finalists are considering a move for the controversial England attacker ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
As per the aforementioned report, Borussia Dortmund are preparing a loan move for the Manchester United forward who is currently on loan at Getafe. The 22-year-old's loan deal with the La Liga side expires on June 30 and he looks destined to head back to Old Trafford.
However, the promising youngster seems to have little chance of donning the Red Devils' shirt again considering his controversial past. The Old Trafford-based outfit are said to be keen on a permanent transfer but could also be open to letting him leave on loan for another season.
Greenwood was widely regarded as one of the most exciting young players when he made his breakthrough at Manchester United. However, his career suffered a huge setback due to allegations of sexual assault and domestic violence.
The Englishman spent some time in jail and was suspended by the club and has not played for them since. The forward was loaned out to Getafe this season and contributed with 10 goals and six assists in 36 games across competitions.
Borussia Dortmund signed Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho on loan in January after the England international fell out with Erik ten Hag. It has been reported that they are keen on landing the 24-year-old permanently but may move for Greenwood as an alternative.
Greenwood made a total of 129 appearances during his time at Old Trafford scoring 35 goals and providing 12 assists. He has also earned one senior cap for England in 2020.
Manchester United forward emerges as target for PL rivals: Reports
Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has reportedly emerged as a target for Arsenal, who finished second in the Premier League for the second season running. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has reportedly also been in touch with the England international.
It has been claimed that Rashford could be open to a move to the Emirates following an underwhelming season for the Red Devils. The 26-year-old scored just eight goals in 43 appearances across competitions this season while producing five assists.
The forward missed out on a place in Gareth Southgate's England side for the Euros and is thought to be keen on reviving his career. He came through the youth ranks of Manchester United and has made 402 appearances since making his debut in 2015.
The Englishman has scored 131 goals and provided 65 assists for the Red Devils to date and has won six trophies during his time at his boyhood club.
