Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool keeping tabs on 20-year-old Argentine winger: Reports
Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all reportedly keeping tabs on highly-rated Argentine winger Thiago Fernandez. As claimed by TBR Football, the three Premier League sides are all among the admirers of the 20-year-old dubbed as the 'next Angel Di Maria'.
Thiago Fernandez only made his senior debut for Velez Sarsfield in April 2023 and has since amassed 36 appearances for the Argentine Liga Profesional de Futbol side. He has been quite impressive for his club which has seen him attract interest from Europe and earn him two caps for Argentine under-23.
Despite being a right-footed player who likes to operate from the left flank, Fernandez has drawn similarities with Argentine great Angel Di Maria.
The youngster is blessed technically and possesses plenty of flair boasting an impressive shooting technique. The gifted young winger has contributed with five goals and eight assists in 30 appearances for Velez Sarsfield this season.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly among the high-profile European sides monitoring the youngster's progress.
Manchester United could do with the addition of a quality young winger like Fernandez on the flanks. Liverpool too could need reinforcements with Mohamed Salah's current deal expiring next summer.
Chelsea already have a pretty big squad with plenty of players in almost every position. However, they could also benefit from Fernandez's addition if they look to offload flops like Mykhailo Mudryk.
Fernandez's current deal at Velez Sarsfield expires in December 2025 which means he could be available at a reasonable price. South America has emerged as a hotbed of talents in recent years and Premier League sides seem to be exploring the market.
Liverpool and Manchester United keen on former Chelsea defender
Liverpool and Manchester United are both reportedly keen on former Chelsea defender Marc Guehi's signature. The England international has caught the attention of a host of top clubs with his exploits for Crystal Palace since joining the Eagles in 2021.
As per Football Insider, both Liverpool and Manchester United have Guehi at the top of their wishlist for the upcoming winter transfer window. Newcastle United are also long-term admirers of the 24-year-old and saw their £65 million bid rejected in the summer.
Guehi recently claimed that he is more than happy at Selhurst Park which raises a question of whether the defender is even looking for a move. The former Chelsea youth graduate said, as quoted by Football 365:
"I am [happy]. It is good to be back here, to be playing again with teammates and a [pre-season] run-out in front of some of the fans again, so it is all positive. I am humbled by that [chairman Steve Parish's comments] - for someone who is a big part of this football club, for him to say something like that is amazing for someone like me. I am not sure I am a superstar, but it was some really kind words from the chairman."
Guehi's current deal with Crystal Palace expires in the summer of 2026 which means the south London giants could be open to a big offer for their star defender.
