Manchester United close to agreeing deal to sign midfielder linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid - Reports
Manchester United are reportedly close to signing Adrien Rabiot, a player who has been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer. This is according to Todofichajes, who believe that the player himself desires a move to the Premier League.
Moreover, this report claims that the Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is also a big fan of the France international. That being said, Rabiot will be an important signing because the Manchester outfit are looking for the perfect partner for Kobbie Mainoo in that deep-lying midfield role.
Casemiro hasn't lived up to expectations, which has increased the need for a new midfielder at Old Trafford. Rabiot could be the answer, with the player's vast experience expected to come in handy.
Additionally, the former Paris Saint-Germain star's contract at Juventus expired this summer, which means he has become available for free. Therefore, it seems an ideal scenario for Manchester United to complete a deal for Rabiot.
While in Turin, he made 212 appearances across competitions, bagging 22 goals and 15 assists. Rabiot has one Serie A title to his name at Juventus, among other honors.
While the Red Devils are considered one of the biggest clubs in the world, they aren't in the best position at the moment. Manchester United finished eighth in the Premier League last season and will not be competing in the UEFA Champions League.
However, the youthful signings of Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee may hint at the fact that the club are now heading in the right direction.
Manchester United midfielder linked with move away from Old Trafford - Reports
With Manchester United linked with moves for midfielders this summer, it hints at the fact that Scott McTominay isn't seen as an integral component. As a result, the Scotland international has been rumored to move to Fulham and Fenerbahce this summer.
This is according to Manchester Evening News, who claim that the Red Devils are willing to sell the player if offers of £25 million to £30 million come their way. This report also states that the Cottagers most recently submitted a bid of £23 million for the midfielder.
However, the Turkish outfit are said to be unwilling to meet Manchester United's current valuation of their player. To date, McTominay has made 252 appearances across competitions for the Red Devils, bagging 29 goals and eight assists.
