Manchester United join race to sign 22-year-old Arsenal star in a deal that could cost €25m: Reports
Manchester United are reportedly in the race, along with Tottenham Hotspur, to sign Arsenal loanee Karl Hein. The 22-year-old shot-stopper is currently on loan at Real Valladolid and will be with the Spanish side till the summer of 2025.
According to Fichajes.net, a move for the youngster will cost about €20 to €25 million (via The Hard Tackle). However, it is unlikely that either of these sides is looking to sign the Estonia international as their first choice between the sticks.
Andre Onana is currently Manchester United's first-choice shot-stopper. The Cameroon international is contracted at Old Trafford till the summer of 2028. Similarly, Guglielmo Vicario will also be with Tottenham Hotspur till 2028, which doesn't raise the immediate need for a first-choice goalkeeper.
However, Hein might have to move away from the Emirates to secure regular first team football. David Raya is Arsenal's number one and is unlikely to be displaced anytime soon. Aaron Ramsdale joined Southampton from the Gunners in 2024 after serving as second choice to Raya the season before.
There may not be many teams willing to employ Hein as their first choice, given his limited experience in first-team action for Arsenal. To date, he's managed just one senior appearance for the club and has played 36 times for their under-21 side.
However, he has featured heavily in La Liga this season, making 13 appearances in the competition and keeping three clean sheets.
Bayern Munich join race to sign Arsenal and Manchester United target - Reports
German giants Bayern Munich have reportedly joined Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres. This is according to a report from Sky Deutschland, who claim that the Bavarians have enquired about the striker (via Metro).
It will be interesting to see whether the Munich-based side pursue their interest, given they already have the services of a prolific goalscorer in Harry Kane. Moreover, they will seemingly have to contend with the Gunners, who are currently operating without an orthodox number nine.
Kai Havertz is the man entrusted with leading the line at the Emirates. Meanwhile, Manchester United have Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund to play in this position.
Gyokeres has certainly caught the eye of several clubs this season, having scored 23 goals and bagged four assists in 18 matches across competitions so far.
