Manchester United keen on offloading flop this summer and ready to loan him out: Reports

Manchester United are reportedly keen to part ways with Antony ahead of the start of the next campaign, as club co-owners INEOS are on a mission to rebuild their squad.

Antony, 24, has failed to live up to his price tag at the Red Devils after arriving from Ajax in a potential £86 million switch in the summer of 2022. He has scored just 11 goals and recorded five assists in 82 games in all competitions, including 60 starts, for his current club.

Now, according to Football Insider, Manchester United will accept both permanent and loan offers for Antony this summer. They are prepared to allow the Sao Paulo youth product to depart on loan only if his £100,000-a-week wages are covered by the bidding team.

Antony, whose Red Devils deal is set to expire in June 2027, could opt to leave on loan due to his club's current transfer plans. He would struggle to get considerable minutes should he stay due to Jadon Sancho's recent return and Joshua Zirkzee's summer arrival.

Prior to joining Manchester United, Antony made a name for himself as one of the most promising wingers at Ajax. He flourished a lot under Erik ten Hag's coaching, recording 22 goals and 20 assists in 79 matches and helping Ajax lift back-to-back Eredivisie titles.

Manchester United star hails Leny Yoro

After his team's 2-0 pre-season friendly victory over Rangers this Saturday, Andre Onana lauded young centre-back Leny Yoro. The Cameroonian shot-stopper said (h/t Yahoo! Sports):

"That's why he's here [he has lots of talent]. If you want to be a Manchester United player, you must have quality and he's already shown himself in the first half. He's a young player, a talented player, good on the ball, so we're going to enjoy him this season."

Claiming that he will help Yoro settle in at the club, Onana concluded:

"He will [have the temperament], he will, and we're here to help him. We're going to give him time, we know he's going to be alright and we have very good scouts here, so if they made him come, that means he's got a lot of quality."

Earlier this Thursday, Manchester United announced Yoro as their new player after completing a deal worth up to £59 million with LOSC Lille.

Yoro, 18, helped Lille finish sixth in the Ligue 1 table and bagged three goals in 44 overall appearances for his club in the 2023-24 campaign.
