Manchester United keeping close tabs on 27-year-old Bayern Munich star ahead of potential move: Reports
Ruben Amorim's Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Konrad Laimer, as per BILD. The Austrian footballer can play as a defensive midfielder and also as a full-back.
Laimer joined Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig in July 2023 on a free transfer. Since then, he has played 60 matches for the Bavarians across all competitions, scoring one and assisting four goals.
This season, he has made 17 appearances for Bayern Munich across all competitions, in which he played 13 as a full-back. Taking about his preferred position, the 27-year-old said (via Tribal Football):
"It doesn't matter where I play. I feel most comfortable in midfield, that's where I can best give my qualities to the team. But I also like playing right back. I don't care where I play, the most important thing is that I play."
Laimer's versatility has made him a top transfer target for the Red Devils, who have faced issues with the consistency of their fullbacks in recent seasons. Luke Shaw has made only three appearances for Manchester United this season due to a knee injury.
Similarly, Tyrell Malacia has also played only three games for United due to injury concerns. Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot has played as a left-back for United, which is not his preferred position.
Signing Konrad Laimer can potentially solve Amorim's problems. However, his ongoing contract with the Bundesliga giants will expire in the summer of 2027.
Manchester United set to bid for €50 million rated AC Milan star: Reports
Manchester United are looking to sign AC Milan's Theo Hernandez in the 2025 summer transfer window, as per Calciomercato. The Red Devils were also said to be interested in signing Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies. However, the Canadian is reportedly expected to sign a new deal with the Bavarians.
As a result, United have shifted their focus to former Real Madrid star Theo Hernandez. The Frenchman joined Rossoneri in July 2019 from Los Blancos for a reported transfer fee of €20 million. Since then, he has made 230 appearances for the San Siro outfit, bagging 31 goals and 41 assists across all competitions.
According to the aforementioned report, the Serie A giants valued Theo Hernandez at around €80 million. However, due to a decline in his form, AC Milan will consider offers of around €50 million. Apart from Manchester United, Hernandez's former club Real Madrid are also interested in signing him as an upgrade for French defender Ferland Mendy.
