Manchester United ready to go all out to sign Barcelona star this summer - Reports
Manchester United are reportedly highly interested in signing Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan could leave the Catalans this summer and the Red Devils will go out to sign him if he does.
Araujo's contract with Barca expires in 2026. As per Sport, he declined a contract extension offer from the club recently as he has high wage demands. He is also assessing his options for the future. If he doesn't sign a new contract, the Blaugrana will be open to selling him for a big offer.
As per Sport Witness, Manchester United are one of the clubs heavily interested in signing him. They believe the 25-year-old could be a good investment to bolster their defense, which was a cause of major concern last summer. They conceded 58 goals in 38 Premier League games last season.
Moreover, Raphael Varane has already left Old Trafford as a free agent. Jonny Evans, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Victor Lindelof's futures are in the air as well. Hence, Erik ten Hag's side are looking to make a big investment in defense.
As per Transfermarkt, Araujo's market value is €70 million but he is likely to cost more. He has made 150 appearances for Barcelona. He is currently competing at the Copa America 2024 and any decision on his future is likely to come after the tournament.
Barcelona interested in signing Manchester United outcast: Reports
As per Sport (via EPL Index), Barcelona are interested in signing Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho on loan this summer.
Sancho had a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag in September last year and he was consequently, barred from the first team. He then went on a six-month loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, helping them reach the UEFA Champions League final.
The Red Devils are looking to sell Sancho but as per the aforementioned report, they have put up a €60 million valuation on him. While the likes of Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are interested, the price might defer them. Hence, Manchester United could allow Sancho to leave on another loan.
Barcelona would be interested in signing him on loan. Their financial troubles are well-known and they see this as an opportunity to bolster their attack. They are leading the race to sign midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad and will turn their attention to attack soon after.
Sancho made 21 appearances for Dortmund across competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
