Manchester United ready to sell 27-year-old star in January as Erik ten Hag grows frustrated: Reports

Manchester United seem all set to finally part ways with Anthony Martial as Erik ten Hag's frustrations with the Frenchman keep growing.

As per reports from Football Insider, the Red Devils believe now is the right time to sell the 27-year-old and are weighing up offers they deem acceptable.

Anthony Martial's exit plans seem mutual as Erik ten Hag and the club have already acquired their main striker in Rasmus Hojlund, having paid Atalanta £64 million for his services. Since the Dane's arrival, Martial has fallen further down the pecking order.

The Frenchman is also keen to make the most of the rest of his career and was reportedly unhappy by being forced into a backup role at Manchester United. Martial has made just nine appearances this season for a total of 275 minutes and has bagged one goal and one assist.

The striker was heavily-favored by former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and forged a formidable partnership with Marcus Rashford. However, injury concerns and new signings every year made life difficult for the player.

Anthony Martial joined Manchester United from AS Monaco for £55 million in 2015 and was dubbed as the 'next big thing'. He has made 307 appearances for the club across competitions, scoring 89 goals and providing 54 assists.

Now with ambitions of being the main man again, it remains to be seen where the forward lands up. United also have an option of extending his contract for another year beyond 2024, and could exercise that option to maximise the fee they receive for Martial.

Erik ten Hag willing to make goalkeeper change for Manchester United

Manchester United acquired Andre Onana from Inter Milan for a fee in the region of £43 million this summer, following his impressive season with the Italian club last season. However, the Cameroonian has already conceded 19 goals in just 11 games across competitions this season, with some of them being poor mistakes.

As per ESPN's Rob Dawson, manager Erik ten Hag is ready to make a change in goal following Onana's poor start.

Should the Dutchman go ahead with this big decision, Altay Bayindir could be made the club's new first-choice goalkeeper. The Turkish custodian arrived in Manchester following a £4.3 million move from Fenerbahce in August this year.

Bayindir made 40 appearances across competitions for Fenerbahce last season and conceded 45 goals, keeping 14 clean sheets in the process.

With nearly 200 professional appearances under his belt, the 25-year-old could soon be Manchester United's number 1 goalkeeper.
