Manchester United ready to sell defender for £10 million to Premier League rivals - Reports

Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka at a lower price as they consider replacing him with Bayern Munich's Noussair Mazraoui. The Englishman has been linked with West Ham United and a potential fee of £15 million had been quoted earlier this month.

That figure, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, has been lowered to £10 million. He adds that Manchester United are looking at a move for Mazraoui, who has also garnered interest from the Hammers.

Plettenberg wrote:

"Aaron Wan-Bissaka, a key for a possible deal with Noussair Mazraoui - for Manchester United and West Ham! ManUtd seriously considering to replace Wan-Bissaka with [Mazraoui]. Therefore they have lowered their demand for AWB and demand £10m now! #WHUFC considering to push for Wan-Bissaka if a transfer with Mazraoui should not work out."

Wan-Bissaka was signed in a high-profile £50 million transfer from Crystal Palace in 2019. Two domestic cup trophies and 190 club appearances later, many believe he has failed to justify that price-tag.

The 26-year-old Englishman made just 22 league appearances last season, but that was largely due to injuries. He usually started when he was available for selection but with the club now after Mazraoui, his stint at Old Trafford may be coming to an end.

Mazraoui, who moved to Bayern Munich from Ajax in a free transfer in 2022, still has two years left on his deal. He made 19 Bundesliga appearances last term and is expected to compete for a place at right-back with the likes of Sacha Boey, midfielder Konrad Laimer, and exit-linked Joshua Kimmich.

Bayern Munich have set an asking price for Manchester United target Noussair Mazraoui - Reports

In a separate tweet, Florian Plettenberg stated that Bayern Munich have placed a €30 million (£25.27m) price-tag on Noussair Mazraoui. The Bavarian giants are also said to be open to suitable offers for the Morocco international.

The journalist's tweet read:

"FC Bayern demand €30m for Noussair #Mazraoui! The 26 y/o right-back under contract until 2026. He’s top professional despite the difficult situation. Mazraoui with a good market and many inquiries. But there are no concrete offers yet. Bayern will listen to all suitable offers."

It remains to be seen if Manchester United will be open to meeting that sum. One can assume that any proceeds from Aaron Wan-Bissaka's potential sale would go towards meeting Mazraoui's asking price.

West Ham United could have a big say in this saga, given their reported interest in both players and a shortage at right-back. With Ben Johnson off to Ipswich Town on a free transfer, David Moyes only has Vladimir Coufal (31) in that position.
