Manchester United ready to spend €180 million to sign Ruben Amorim's key targets - Reports
Manchester United are reportedly ready to back their new head coach Ruben Amorim by spending €180 million to sign two of his key targets. As per talkSPORT (via Football Transfers), the Red Devils are looking to sign Jarrad Branthwaite and Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the season.
Ruben Amorim officially took charge at Old Trafford on November 11 and will take on Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 24, in his first game. The Portuguese tactician will know that he has a massive task on his hands to revive the club's glory.
Manchester United are currently languishing at the 13th position in the Premier League table, having only secured an eighth-placed finish last time out. According to reports, the club's hierarchy is ready to offer Amorim a significant transfer kitty to bolster his squad.
As per the aforementioned report, Ruben Amorim is a huge admirer of centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, who has been a long-term target for the Red Devils. They had two bids rejected by Everton for the England international in the summer and are ready to revive their interest.
Meanwhile, Amorim is also reportedly eager to reunite with Viktor Gyokeres at Manchester United. The Sweden international has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe under the Portuguese manager at Sporting CP.
Gyokeres has been in red hot form this season with 23 goals and four assists in 18 appearances for Sporting CP. He is likely to cost around €100 million.
Branthwaite, however, has struggled with injuries and has featured just four times for Everton this campaign. The Toffees could sell their star centre-back for €80 million next summer.
