Manchester United refuse to rule out Marcus Rashford's departure as his brother holds discussion with new agency: Reports
Manchester United have reportedly refused to rule out an exit for Marcus Rashford this summer. There are also claims that the winger's brother, Dwaine Maynard is in the process of changing the agency that represents the 26-year-old attacker.
A report from Manchester Evening News has claimed that Maynard has already held discussions with a new agency. The focus of the agency would be to assist in Rashford's management ahead of the pre-season when he returns to Manchester United.
However, after a sub-par last season, his future at Old Trafford has become uncertain. The forward was handed a reported £325,000-a-week contract after impressive form in the 2023-24 season, which saw him score 30 goals across competitions. Last season, though, he scored just eight goals across 43 appearances.
While the Red Devils are not averse to pushing the 26-year-old to his previous heights under manager Erik ten Hag, their stance has changed on his exit. Essentially, Rashford is no longer seen as an indispensable player, as per the aforementioned report.
England legend does not believe Marcus Rashford will leave Manchester United
While rumors continue to make the rounds about Marcus Rashford's future, some believe that he will leave the club. Notably, the 26-year-old rose through the ranks at Manchester United and worked his way into the first team over the years.
England legend Michael Owen does not think the winger will leave his boyhood club. Owen made his feelings clear about the situation, telling BoyleSports (via Mirror):
"Rashford won't go, I'm sure of it, he's Manchester through and through. The whole club is a struggle, but he has it in his locker. He might leave but his value is so high, who would pay it? They might be thinking, is his attitude right? Is he in great form? I don't see how it can all come together at the moment.
"There was talk of PSG but I can't see that. Who can afford him? And would Man Utd want him to go, particularly with a new manager? I just don't believe all this b*****ks that goes round all the time at this part of the year, it never happens."
Rumors have placed Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the forefront of the suitors who are interested in the forward's services.
