Manchester United star emerges as surprise target for Turkish giants Galatasaray - Reports
According to reports, Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has emerged as a transfer target for Turkish giants Galatasaray this summer. McTominay has been linked with a summer exit from Old Trafford, with Napoli and Fulham among other potential suitors.
The Scottish midfielder reportedly agreed on personal terms with Napoli and Antonio Conte wants to sign the player. The Serie A club, however, are unable to match United's €30 million valuation unless they sell marksman Victor Osimhen.
Fulham were also linked with McTominay but they have agreed a £20 million plus £5 million (add-ons) deal to sign Sander Berge from Burnley. The Norwegian midfielder was a target for United as well and the Red Devils reportedly had a bid turned down by the Clarets.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, are firmly in the race for McTominay, as per Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg.
The 27-year-old is an academy product of Manchester United and has so far made 254 appearances for the club, scoring 29 goals and providing eight assists. Last season, he scored several crucial goals for Manchester United and was frequently used as an impact substitute.
McTominay ended the 2023-24 campaign with 10 goals and three assists in 43 matches. However, he is not an undisputed starter for Erik ten Hag's side. Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro are the first picks in central midfield, while United have also been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte.
Scott McTominay is expected to leave United this summer with several clubs interested in signing him. It will be interesting to see where he ends up after the transfer window closes.
Manchester United holding talks to sign Turkish full-back: Reports
Turkish outlet Takvim have provided an update on Manchester United's reported pursuit of Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu.
Manchester United were short in the left-back department last season as Tyrell Malacia missed the entirety of the season and Luke Shaw had multiple injury-induced absences. United signed Sergio Reguilon on loan last summer, but sent him back in January as they believed Malacia return to fitness soon.
However, the decision backfired and Erik ten Hag had to use Diogo Dalot or Victor Lindelof at left-back. Hence, the Red Devils are looking to strengthen their options in the position and Kadioglu has emerged as a target.
However, they face competition from Brighton & Hove Albion with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that Kadioglu has agreed on personal terms with the Seagulls. Apart from that, Brighton's €35 million plus add-ons offer is also more than United's bid.
Hence, the Red Devils will need to step up their offer if they are to sign Kadioglu this summer.
