Manchester United suffer blow as West Ham United turn attention away from Aaron Wan-Bissaka to sign €20M rated star - Reports
West Ham United have reportedly turned their attention away from signing Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer. The Hammers have been linked with a move for the former England under-21 international, who has struggled with the Red Devils recently.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had earlier claimed that the east Londoners have commenced negotiations with the Manchester side over a move for Wan-Bissaka. However, Mundo Deportivo has now stated that West Ham United are now pushing for Girona right-back Arnau Martinez's signature, who is valued at €20 million (via The Boot Room).
This would be a huge blow to Erik ten Hag's team, who will be looking to offload their defender this summer, with only a year left on his contract at Old Trafford. Moreover, injuries have been a constant issue for the former Crystal Palace star, who missed 21 matches across competitions last season due to fitness problems.
As a result, he made 30 appearances across competitions in the previous season, bagging three assists while failing to find the net. Despite links away from Manchester United, the Red Devils are still looking for a solution to their problems at right back.
While Diogo Dalot can also play the role, they've got no other players to cover this position. Therefore, it may seem wise for Ten Hag and Co. to keep hold of Wan-Bissaka until they find a suitable alternative.
To date, the defender has made 190 appearances across competitions for his current employers, bagging two goals and 13 assists. He's won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup once each with Manchester United.
Manchester United in talks with Bayern Munich for Noussair Mazraoui - Reports
Manchester United are said to be in talks with Bayern Munich for their right-back Noussair Mazraoui this summer. Along with the full-back, Fabrizio Romano claims that the Red Devils are also looking to sign Matthijs de Ligt.
Should the Morocco international arrive at Old Trafford this summer, it could well mean the end of Aaron Wan-Bissaka's career in Manchester.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano said:
"Now they need to reach an agreement with Bayern, but the conversation is ongoing, it's a positive conversation, because at the end of the day, both players have been clear with Bayern.
"They want to go, they want to try something different, they want to rejoin Erik ten Hag at Manchester United."
Mazraoui still has two years left on his current deal at Bayern Munich. The 26-year-old defender previously played under Erik ten Hag during the latter's Ajax days.
