Manchester United willing to sell 27-year-old who was subject of £40m transfer last summer: Reports
Manchester United are reportedly willing to sell midfielder Scott McTominay this summer amid interest from Fulham. According to GIVEMESPORT, this would happen only if the right offer arrives the way of the Red Devils.
The same report claims that McTominay was close to joining West Ham United last summer for £40 million. Although it is believed that the Manchester outfit will not be willing to sell their player for cheap, the club aren't in the best position to negotiate a price.
Currently, the 27-year-old midfielder only has a year left on his deal at Old Trafford. If he chooses to wait till the contract expires, McTominay would leave for free in the summer of 2025.
With this being the circumstance, it is highly likely that the Red Devils will look to secure a transfer agreement for the midfielder. As for McTominay, a move away to a smaller club like Fulham may be ideal, given his minutes in the starting lineup at Manchester United aren't guaranteed.
In the 2023/24 campaign, he started 18 Premier League matches from his 34 appearances, bagging seven goals and an assist in the process. With the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo, McTominay's minutes could be further hindered if he remains in Manchester.
Moreover, the club aren't at their best either and are going through a slight rebuild. Last season, Manchester United finished eighth in the Premier League while being knocked out of the Champions League in the group stages.
Manchester United have contacted Paris Saint-Germain over a move for midfielder - Reports
Manchester United are in the market for a new midfielder to partner Kobbie Mainoo this summer. With Casemiro failing to live up to expectations last season and Scott McTominay not considered the answer, the Red Devils are looking at Manuel Ugarte.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Erik ten Hag and Co have held talks with the player's club, Paris Saint-Germain, over a move in the summer. He told GIVEMESPORT:
"For Ugarte, they have already made contact. So, it's a different stage of the story, because for example, some of the options were discussed just internally. But in the case of Manuel Ugarte, they have already made contact with Paris Saint-Germain."
Last season, the Uruguay international made 37 appearances across competitions for his Parisian employers, bagging three assists and no goals. With the midfielder only aged 23, he would be a great long-term option at Old Trafford.
