Premier League giants willing to offer swap deal to sign Barcelona target Joshua Kimmich: Reports
Premier League giants Manchester City are rumored to be interested in signing German midfield maestro and Barcelona target Joshua Kimmich, according to the Daily Mirror (via Hard Tackle). This 28-year-old midfielder has reportedly caught the eye of City manager, Pep Guardiola, and has emerged as a prime candidate for a potential swap deal.
Given the expiration of Ilkay Gundogan's contract this summer, Manchester City believe Kimmich can be the ideal replacement for the 32-year-old.
Kimmich was disappointed with Bayern's dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann in March. The surprise departure prompted him to reassess his future, sparking interest from clubs like City and Barcelona, who are keen to bring him on board.
Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer a swap-deal to the Bundesliga giants involving full-back Joao Cancelo and Joshua Kimmich.
Cancelo is currently on loan at Bayern Munich after a falling-out with Guardiola. As it stands, the Spanish tactician is amenable to saying goodbye to Cancelo permanently.
Meanwhile, there is still no certainty regarding Gundogan's future. While City are willing to extend his deal in the form of a one-year contract extension, Gundogan is yet to put pen to paper. In the wings, Barcelona are standing ready, with a tempting three-year contract offer to try to lure him to the Catalonian giants, according to the report.
Barcelona have reportedly agreed terms with Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves
Ruben Neves, the Portuguese midfield maestro at the Molineux, is reportedly set to ink a contract with Barcelona, according to SPORT (via Hard Tackle). Neves' contract with Wolves expires next summer and the upcoming window is their last opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for the player.
Jorge Mendes, Neves' agent, is said to be working his magic to weave a captivating deal, which could involve Barcelona's rising star, Ansu Fati. The Spanish winger could be on his way out of Camp Nou and to the Molineux in a player-plus-cash deal, which would see Barca pocket around €30 million.
After Wolves' clash against Everton at the Molineux on Saturday, May 20, Neves acknowledged the fans with a heartfelt wave, an apparent farewell. It will be interesting to see if Barcelona are able to complete the move for the Portuguese midfielder.
