Premier League rivals join Arsenal in race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz: Reports
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined Arsenal in the transfer race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz. The 25-year-old star's current contract with Los Blancos is valid until the summer of 2027.
TBR Football report that along with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United are also interested in acquiring Diaz's signature. The Manchester City graduate is reportedly unsatisfied with the limited time he has been receiving on the pitch. He has appeared in nine matches for the Spanish giants so far this season, among which he only started in two.
Brahim Diaz has been on the pitch for 254 minutes in this ongoing campaign, during which he registered one goal and two assists. CaughtOffside report that the attacking midfielder has also been linked with a move to AC Milan, where he was on a three-season loan from Real Madrid from 2020 to 2023.
Following his loan tenure at the Serie A giants, Diaz proved himself to be an asset, contributing 12 goals and nine assists in 44 appearances across competitions for Los Blancos last season. However, with Kylian Mbappe's arrival at Santiago Bernabeu, there was a significant reduction in the midfielder's game time. He also sustained a hamstring injury in mid-September which kept him on the sidelines for over a month.
Amid reported interest from multiple prominent clubs, Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti is impressed with Brahim Diaz's performances. They are not currently considering a sale, as per a report by Marca.
Overall, Brahim Diaz has recorded 15 goals and 14 assists in 74 appearances across competitions for Los Blancos. With Los Blancos' reported interest in retaining the player, it will be a difficult transfer race for Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham.
Arsenal reportedly reject Real Madrid's offer to sign William Saliba
Arsenal have turned down an offer from Real Madrid to sign Gunners' defender William Saliba, according to Football Insider. The Premier League giants are not interested in enjoying any bids for the Frenchman and have conveyed that to Los Blancos.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are struggling with their defensive line after losing four key players, David Alaba, Daniel Carvajal, Eder Militão, and Lucas Vazquez to injuries. The Spanish giants are expected to sign defenders in the upcoming transfer window to restore the balance in the squad and strengthen it further.
William Saliba has been a key player in Mikel Arteta's squad. The Gunners' decision to keep the 23-year-old seems obvious, with the defender contributing to seven clean sheets in 15 appearances across competitions this season.
With Arsenal reportedly rejecting Los Blancos' offer for William Saliba, the LaLiga giants will be looking for alternative targets in the January transfer window.
