Premier League side in talks to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United: Reports
Fulham are allegedly still in talks with Manchester United to sign Scott McTominay in the ongoing summer transfer window.
McTominay, 27, has emerged as a potential outgoing for the Red Devils as INEOS are focused on revamping the club's squad this summer. He has helped his club lift one FA Cup crown and one EFL Cup trophy.
The 52-cap Scotland international relished a brilliant season for Manchester United last time around. He started 27 of 43 appearances across competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists as well.
According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Fulham maintain their interest in McTominay despite previously having two of their offers rejected. They are yet to decide if they will lodge a third bid, which would be ideally higher than their last bid of around £20 million.
Should McTominay seal a permanent switch to Fulham in the near future, he could prove to be a stellar signing for them. He would fill the void left by Joao Palhinha's exit and also reunite with Andreas Pereira.
Ex-Arsenal & Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit offers verdict on Manchester United target
Speaking to UK-based betting outlet Gambling Zone, ex-Arsenal and Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit shared his two cents on Manchester United target Manuel Ugarte. The 53-year-old said:
"I like Manuel Ugarte but I think he's limited. I think he has the quality to play in the Premier League, but I would question if he was what Erik ten Hag is looking for in a holding midfielder. He is a player with a lot of limitations with the ball and with the football that Manchester United are trying to play, with Ten Hag's philosophy, Ugarte doesn't have the required technical ability."
Sharing additional thoughts on the Uruguayan midfielder, Petit added:
"He's got energy, he's got a good mentality, and he's a fighter on the pitch. At PSG, he was in the first-team for a few weeks at the beginning of the season, but Luis Enrique realized that he couldn't play the way he wanted him to and he was on the bench for the rest of the season. On the plus side, he is a player who is physically very strong. He never gets injured."
According to The Independent, Ugarte is valued at around £51 million.
Ugarte, 23, has provided three assists in 37 games, including 27 starts, across all competitions for his club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) so far.
