Premier League superstar offers himself to Barcelona on free transfer - Reports

According to a report by El Nacional, Premier League superstar Son Heung-min has offered himself to Barcelona on a free transfer. The South Korean star is one of the best players in his position and will be out of contract with the north London side in the summer of 2025.

Son joined the Lillywhites in the summer of 2015 for a reported €30 million fee from Bayer Leverkusen and has gone on to become a club legend. He has amassed 423 appearances for the club, scoring 166 goals and 88 assists to be placed fifth in their overall scoring charts.

At 32 years old, Son would offer himself as readymade attacking midfield option behind Robert Lewandowski. The forward would also help Barcelona crack the Asian market thanks to his immense popularity in the far East.

The Catalan giants will have to start preparing the funds required to bring forward if a move would be on the cards for Hansi Flick. As per Capology, the attacker currently earns a salary of £190,000 per week at Spurs.

Barcelona manager demands more from his team after the Real Betis draw

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has urged his team to improve after their 2-2 away draw with Real Betis in LaLiga on Saturday, December 7. The Catalan giants are currently in a concerning patch of form after their impressive start to the season and have won just two of their last six games.

The Blaugrana have maintained their hold at the top of the league despite recent struggles for form, but only hold a two-point lead over rivals Real Madrid, who have a game in hand. Speaking to the press after his side's recent draw with the Andalusians, Flick said (via Barca Blaugranes):

“It wasn’t a really good game but we have a young team and we must improve a lot. That’s what we have to do and away from home, as we have seen in recent results and also today, we must be stronger. It’s up to us to improve on that.
“We know we have the quality to win, but we have to prove it. We need to pass the ball faster, today we were too slow and relied on long balls a lot. This is not one of our strengths, and we have to change it.”

Barcelona had 68% possession of the ball and 447 accurate passes with an 86% accuracy against Real Betis' 230 accurate passes with a 74% accuracy. They had nine goal attempts with three on target, against Betis' 6/12 on-target attempts, and had a 1.92 xG from open play against Betis' 0.96 xG.
