PSG make €100m offer for Barcelona target to replace Kylian Mbappe: Reports
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly made a concrete move to replace Kylian Mbappe by capturing Kvicha Kvaratskhelia who Barcelona are monitoring. The Parisians have targeted the Georgian winger as they face a future without their all-time top scorer.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Ligue 1 giants have made a €100 million offer for Kvaratskhelia. The 23-year-old attacker has been in fine form at the Diego Armando Maradona, registering 25 goals and 26 assists in 88 games since arriving in July 2022.
Kvaratskhelia's agent has confirmed PSG's offer and left it up to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to decide. Mamuka Jugeli said (via TuttoMercatoWeb):
"There is interest and an offer from PSG, everything depends on the decision of Napoli and Aurelio De Laurentiis."
Barcelona will be on red alert after the Parisians' made their move to sign Kvaratskhelia. The Catalans hold an interest and a potential swap deal involving Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez has been mooted, per SPORT.
The Blaugrana will struggle to match the reigning Ligue 1 champions' offer. They are still dealing with financial issues that have plagued the La Liga giants for several years.
Their former manager Luis Enrique will be without Kylian Mbappe next season at the Parc des Princes. The French superstar's contract expires next month and he's confirmed he's leaving.
Mbappe, 25, is heavily expected to join Real Madrid, putting an end to the longest transfer saga in football history. He bagged 256 goals and 108 assists in 308 games while with the French capital club.
Robert Lewandowski insists Barcelona won't fear Kylian Mbappe next season
Kylian Mbappe's move to Madrid has yet to be confirmed but Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has given his thoughts. The iconic Polish frontman dismissed suggestions that the Catalans will fear their El Clasico rivals in an interview with Marca:
"It's not official yet, but it seems that all roads lead to Real Madrid. Fear? No, of course, he is an incredible player and if he goes to Real Madrid, it will be a very strong team. But our mentality has to be that no matter how good players you have if we are a team and work together, we can beat you."
Madrid dethroned Barcelona as La Liga champions this season, finishing 10 points above them. Carlo Ancelotti's squad will be bolstered further with the addition of Mbappe who will captain France at this summer's European Championships.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner finished his Parisian career in stellar form, winning the Ligue 1 Golden Boot for the fifth time. He posted 44 goals and 10 assists in 48 games across competitions.
