Real Madrid asked to pay €20m for Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate in January amid injury crisis: Reports

Real Madrid are reportedly looking to sign Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate Aymeric Laporte in January amid a centre-back crisis at the Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos are short of options in this position after losing Eder Militao to a long-term knee injury.

Moreover, David Alaba, who is seen as cover in this area, is also recovering from injury. Therefore, Spanish outlet AS are now reporting that the Madrid-based outfit are willing to spend about €15-20 million to acquire Laporte's services in January (via The Hard Tackle).

The 30-year-old centre-half would seem like a reasonable short-term option, given the experience he possesses in top-flight football. Before moving to Al-Nassr, Laporte spent five years with current Premier League champions Manchester City, where he made 180 appearances across competitions.

On top of that, the Spain international is no stranger to La Liga, having played several games for former side Athletic Bilbao. While he was at the aforementioned side, the defender made 222 appearances across competitions for the club's senior team, bagging 10 goals and six assists.

Laporte will seemingly need to fit in straight into the first XI if he is to join the current European champions. A move to Real Madrid would earn him the chance to challenge for top honors once again.

Carlo Ancelotti's team is chasing Barcelona for the La Liga title, currently placed second in the standings and six points behind the Blaugrana with a game in hand. They certainly need to get their Champions League campaign going, having registered just six points in four group matches so far.

A rather surprising report from Brazilian publication Esportes has emerged linking former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo with a move to Al-Hilal (via Express). A move of this nature would be rather dampening for Al-Nassr fans, given they are batting against Al-Hilal for the Saudi Pro League title this campaign.

Ronaldo and Co. are third in the league standings, six points behind the aforementioned Riyadh-based side, who are top. It is believed that Al-Hilal want to make a move for the Portuguese superstar, with Neymar being linked with a move back to Brazil.

However, the 39-year-old striker's sister Katia Aveiro has shut down these rumors, claiming them to be false. Ronaldo has had a significant impact on Al-Nassr after joining the club in January 2023, and will see his deal expire in the summer of 2025.
