Real Madrid consider move for Manchester United star as alternative to 25-year-old Premier League transfer target: Reports

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot as an alternative to Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold. As reported by GiveMeSport via Football Espana, Los Blancos will launch a move for the Portugal international should they fail to land Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool man is reportedly Los Blancos' top priority with his current deal at Anfield expiring next summer. However, the aforementioned report claims that he is keen on staying at his boyhood club by signing a new deal.

Real Madrid are now reportedly considering Dalot as an alternative to Alexander-Arnold. They currently have Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez as options at right-back who are 32 and 33 respectively.

Dalot is only 25 years old just like Alexander-Arnold and could be the long-term solution in the position at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, they might find it difficult to secure a deal with Manchester United with the Portuguese contracted at Old Trafford until 2028.

The Red Devils signed Dalot in a reported £19 million deal from FC Porto back in 2019. He initially had his fair share of struggles and was even loaned out to AC Milan for a season but has become a mainstay under Erik ten Hag.

Dalot has impressed with his all-round game and tremendous work-rate covering every blade of grass. While he is predominantly a right-back, he has caught the eye despite playing at left-back this season in the absence of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

The Portuguese full-back has made 165 appearances for Manchester United so far having contributed with six goals and 11 assists. He has won just two trophies during his time at the club and could be tempted to join Real Madrid for more silveware.

Former Manchester United star makes bold claim about Real Madrid superstar

Former Manchester United full-back Paul Parker has given a strong warning regarding Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham. The pundit has urged the media and fans not to overhype the midfielder insisting he still has a long way to go. The former Manchester United star told MyBettingsites:

“Jude has done very well, but I don’t think he needs all this attention, looking at how he is conducting himself on the pitch. Everyone is trying to make him bigger than he is and make him into something that he is not. I heard people saying he is a better midfielder for England than Bryan Robson was."
"That’s the status they are trying to give him already. The English media are crazy in that sense. They are not respecting his age. It’s not easy for him, and he can disappear very quickly like we saw with Theo Walcott.”

Bellingham enjoyed a sensational debut season at Real Madrid following his reported €103 million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2023. He scored 23 goals and provided 13 assists in 42 games to help Carlo Ancelotti's side win Supercopa de Spana, La Liga, and the Champions League.

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the favorites for the Ballon d'Or 2024 along with his teammate Vinicius Junior.
