Real Madrid consider using 'Endrick formula' to sign teenage star from Argentina - Reports
According to AS, Real Madrid are considering using the 'Endrick Formula' to sign Franco Mastantuono from Argentine club River Plate. Los Blancos are looking to curate a deal to keep Mastantuono at River Plate for another season before bringing him to the Spanish capital. They applied the same strategy when signing Endrick.
Mastantuono plays as an attacking midfielder and has recently made his professional debut for the Argentine club, scoring thrice and providing an assist in 21 appearances.
Real Madrid have reportedly given former River Plate and Argentina star Santiago Solari the responsibility to close a deal for Mastantuono. River Plate reportedly want to increase the player's release clause to €45 million, however, Los Merengues are confident that they could conclude a transfer at his current price of €25 million.
At only 16, Mastantuono has already become a highly-touted prospect. He could soon join Carlo Ancelotti's rich pool of young talents, boasting Endrick, Arda Guler, and more.
Beyond targeting young talent, Real Madrid is on the doorstep of their pre-season schedule
Real Madrid are set for their pre-season in the United States and have a few high-profile opponents in their preparation fixtures. Ancelotti's side first play AC Milan on July 31.
They play Barcelona (August 3) and Chelsea (August 6) in the remainder of the games before starting their campaign in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14.
The match against Atalanta could also mark new signing Kylian Mbappe's official debut for the club. Mbappe has joined on a free transfer from PSG. While he won a plethora of trophies with the Parisians, he is yet to win a European competition.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner could very well do so in his first-ever game for the Madrid giants. Apart from Mbappe, Endrick is another player whose debut is highly anticipated among fans.
