Real Madrid defender aware Carlo Ancelotti could sell him after failing to impress at Santiago Bernabeu: Reports
Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia is reportedly aware that manager Carlo Ancelotti could sell him next year as he has failed to impress. El Nacional report that the left-back could be on his way out of the club should he not see an upturn in form.
Garcia rose through the Real Madrid youth ranks before joining Rayo Vallecano, where he enjoyed a fine spell under Andoni Iraola. The 25-year-old was at Vallecas between 2020 and 2023, before returning to Santiago Bernabeu after Los Blancos triggered his €5 million buy-back clause.
Fran Garcia has, however, struggled to nail down a starting spot in Ancelotti's starting XIs. The left-back has failed to upstage Ferland Mendy, who was rewarded with a new contract this season despite the club's reported pursuit of a new left-back.
Garcia was reportedly put up for sale earlier this year in the summer transfer window. However, he couldn't find potential suitors and stayed put. Though he has featured regularly lately, he hasn't convinced the Real Madrid management.
Ancelotti has thus asked club president Florentino Perez to consider bids for Garcia next summer. The club will be prepared to sell the left-back for around €15 million, the report has claimed.
Fran Garcia has made 20 appearances for Los Blancos this season, helping his side keep six clean sheets in those games. He has now played 52 senior games for the club, in total, and has a goal and seven assists to his name.
Real Madrid left sweating over fitness of star midfielder ahead of LaLiga return
Real Madrid have been left sweating over the fitness of midfielder Jude Bellingham after the FIFA Intercontinental Cup in Qatar. The Englishman featured for Los Blancos as they defeated Mexican outfit Pachuca 3-0 on Wednesday, December 18, to win the trophy.
Bellingham was forced off in the 88th minute with what appeared to be an injury to the quadriceps muscle of his right thigh. He was seen speaking to the physio and medical staff, who instructed that his thigh be bandaged before he returned to join in the title celebrations.
Real Madrid will hope to have the 21-year-old midfielder fit and available for their upcoming league game against Sevilla on Sunday, December 22. Los Blancos are currently third in LaLiga table behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
