Real Madrid to face competition from European rivals for Bayern Munich youngster - Reports
Real Madrid will reportedly face competition from Ajax to sign Bayern Munich teenager Lennart Karl. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is under contract until 2026.
In recent years, Real Madrid have kept an eye out to sign the best young talents in the sport alongside major superstars. Los Blancos signed Turkish star Arda Guler, 19, from Fenerbahce for a reported €20 million in 2023. Brazilian forward Endrick, 18, also arrived from Palmeiras in 2024 for a reported $39 million plus bonuses.
According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Kerry Hau, both Real Madrid and Ajax are keeping tabs on Lennart Karl. The youngster reportedly is known to have a lethal left foot and is represented by former Bayern star Michael Ballack.
Karl has recorded impressive numbers this season, recording 19 goals and eight assists in 12 appearances for the Bayern Munich U-17 team (per Transfermarkt). He also scored five goals for Germany in three qualifying games for the U17 European Championship.
As per the aforementioned report, Bayern are looking to bring him to the U-19 team this winter and send him on loan next summer. It could be a while before Lennart Karl makes it to the senior team of any club, considering his age. The Los Blancos midfield is brimming with talent, with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni.
If the deal goes through, Karl could rise up the ranks of Real Madrid Castilla before moving to the senior team. However, with Ajax in contention and reported interest from other European giants, it remains to be seen if the deal materializes.
Liverpool are looking to sign Real Madrid star Arda Guler: Reports
According to Spanish digital Todo Fichajes (via CaughtOffside), Liverpool are ready to offer €70 million to sign Real Madrid star Arda Guler. The 19-year-old attacker arrived from Turkish side Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023 for a reported €20 million.
However, despite being lauded for his talents, Guler has not been a regular starter for Los Blancos. In 11 games across competitions this season, Guler has been a starter only three times. The teenager has only recorded 292 minutes of game time and has yet to score or assist.
The Turkish youngster is reportedly unhappy about his situation, with Liverpool set to take advantage. Guler is viewed as a replacement for Mohammed Salah, whose contract with the club expires next summer. With the Egyptian superstar yet to sign a new contract, Guler's arrival could help the Merseysiders strengthen their attack.
However, it is unlikely for Real Madrid to let Guler go as he is reportedly considered a key part of the project. Yet, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo in the attack, it might be a while before Guler cements his position in the starting line-up.
