Real Madrid to file complaint against LaLiga referees - Reports

Real Madrid have reportedly decided to file a complaint against LaLiga referees, following their 3-3 draw against Rayo Vallecano at the Estadio de Vallecas on December 14. During the game, Los Blancos winger Vinicius Junior was seemingly tackled inside the box, but the referee ignored it and VAR did not look at the incident.

The winger also got pulled back during a counter-attack by an opponent, but the referee did not show the yellow card to the Vallecano player. Vinicius protested this angrily and ended up getting cautioned with a yellow card.

The situation has not pleased the Real Madrid hierarchy, who believe these are premeditated decisions against the club. According to a report from Marca, the directors, coaches, and some players have spoken about what is termed the "manipulation of LaLiga".

They will look to file an official complaint to the Spanish Football Federation and the Technical Committee of Referees. The club are not pleased about the potential penalty shout, which Referee Martinez Munuera and VAR did not review.

Last season, Real Madrid notably had a problem with the same referee, leading them to file a formal complaint against Munuera. During a match against Osasuna, Vinicius Junior endured insults from the stands, but Munuera did not include this in his match report.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti speaks after 3-3 draw against Vallecano

Carlo Ancelotti has spoken to the press after Los Blancos dropped points at the Estadio de Vallecas. Two goals from the hosts put Vallecano ahead in the first half, as Unai Lopez (4') and Abdul Mumin (36') found the net. However, the visitors returned fire as Federico Valverde scored (39') and Jude Bellingham equalized (45').

In the second half, Rodrygo scored Madrid's third goal (56'), putting them ahead for the first time in the game. However, this did not last long, as Isi Palazon scored in the 64th minute for Vallecano. After the match, Ancelotti said (via Reuters):

"It was a complete game, which also included many errors, but I thought we didn't suffer as much as the final result would suggest. I was much more worried about those draws against Mallorca and Las Palmas... Now we have the attitude and commitment of last year and that is promising.
"I look ahead and I see a 2025 that is very positive, although I could be wrong. It's very good, with the players showing a lot of desire and enthusiasm. We're in the hunt for everything we're playing for..."

Real Madrid sit in second place on the La Liga table, just one point behind Barcelona, who are leading the league with 38 points.
