Real Madrid forward receives huge offer from Saudi Arabia; makes decision on future amid increased competition for places: Reports

Real Madrid forward Joselu has reportedly received a huge offer from Saudi Arabia this summer transfer window. However, the 34-year-old is said to be keen on staying put at the Santiago Bernabeu despite the intense competition for places.

Joselu joined Real Madrid from Espanyol last year in a season-long deal with the option to make it permanent for just €1.5 million. The striker impressed in his loan spell to the extent that he's almost 100% certain to earn a permanent deal this summer.

However, while he's settled perfectly at the club, the intense competition for places in the squad means that the Spaniard will continue to suffer for game time. That will get even worse with the arrival of players like Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.

An escape route isn't far though. According to Spanish outlet Marca (via Madridxtra on X) Joselu has received a massive offer to leave the La Liga giants in favor of a move to Saudi Arabia.

However, the report adds that his priority is to continue plying his trade at the Santiago Bernabeu despite the increased competition in the squad. It remains to be seen if he'll change his stance going forward.

He racked up impressive numbers during the recently concluded campaign despite playing majorly as a makeshift. He made 39 appearances for the club across all competitions, contributing 17 goals and three assists.

Should he move to Saudi Arabia, he'd join an illustrious list of players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Karim Benzema in switching to the Middle East.

More Real Madrid players linked with Saudi Arabia move

Apart from Joselu, there are more Real Madrid players being linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia at the moment. At the top of this list is midfield veteran Luka Modric, who could bid farewell to the club after running down his contract this season.

Another player who could follow suit is Nacho Fernandez. According to L'Equipe, the defender, who will become a free agent this summer, is said to be in talks with Al-Qadsiah over a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Similarly, players like Lucas Vasquez and Ferland Mendy also find themselves on the list, according to Marca.
