Real Madrid handed major injury boost as key player returns to team training after lengthy spell on the sidelines: Reports
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have been handed an injury boost as David Alaba has returned to training. Alaba sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury last season and was on the sidelines for 355 days.
While Eder Militao's injury aggravated Madrid's defensive woes in recent months, Alaba's potential return comes as a big boost. The 32-year-old's versatility to feature in multiple defensive positions could benefit Madrid in the coming weeks.
Alaba’s return will also reduce the pressure on 21-year-old defender Raul Asencio, who has featured in only five games for Madrid's senior side this season. The duo of Antonio Rudiger and Alaba will likely feature as Los Blancos' center-back pairing in the forthcoming weeks.
Real Madrid have registered 33 points from 15 league games this season, and are placed second in the standings with a game in hand. They have four points fewer than Barcelona. Los Blancos will travel to Girona for their next league game on Saturday, November 7.
Real Madrid interested in signing Hugo Larsson from Eintracht Frankfurt - Reports
According to journalist Patrick Berger, Real Madrid are interested in signing midfielder Hugo Larsson. The report also stated that Madrid had been monitoring the Swede before he moved from Malmo to Frankfurt in July 2023.
Larsson could be seen as a long-term replacement for Luka Modric, whose current contract is set to expire next summer. As a central midfielder, Larsson is also clinical in front of goal.
This season, he has scored four goals and registered one assist in 20 games for Eintracht Frankfurt. If signed, his attacking proficiency could come in handy for Madrid as well.
The aforementioned report states that Frankfurt would demand at least €50 million if they decide to sell Larsson. The 23-year-old is contracted at Frankfurt until June 2029.
