Real Madrid join race to sign Premier League star wanted by Manchester United and Liverpool: Reports
Real Madrid are battling Manchester United and Liverpool for the services of Milos Kerkez, according to Real Madrid Confidencial. The Hungarian left-back has caught the eye with Bournemouth of late.
Kerkez arrived at the Vitality Stadium in the summer of 2023 from AZ Alkmaar and has gone from strength to strength since. This season, the 21-year-old has registered one goal and two assists from 14 games across competitions.
His efforts have already forced Real Madrid to take note. The reigning LaLiga champions are on the hunt for a new left-back amid the uncertainties surrounding Ferland Mendy's future.
While Alphonso Davies is Los Blancos' preferred choice for the job, there's rising interest in the Canadian's services. As such, Real Madrid have been forced to consider alternatives and have identified Kerkez as an option.
However, the Hungarian already has admirers in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Liverpool also hot on his trail. The Red Devils are looking for a new left-back amid Luke Shaw's injury troubles.
New head coach Ruben Amorim wants to address the position before the start of the next campaign. Kerkez has popped up on Manchester United's radar.
Meanwhile, the Merseyside club are also laying down succession plans for Andrew Robertson. The Scottish left-back is already on the wrong side of 30 and the Reds apparently believe that Kerkez can fill his shoes at Anfield. However, the Hungarian is under contract with Bournemouth until 2028, so Liverpool, or his other suitors, will have to pay a decent fee to secure his signature.
Are Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Manchester United eyeing a Bundesliga star?
Manchester United, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are in a three-horse race for Hugo Larsson, according to Sky Germany. The 20-year-old midfielder has earned rave reviews with his efforts for Eintracht Frankfurt so far.
This season, Larsson has registered four goals and one assist from 20 appearances across competitions. The Swede's contract with the Bundesliga club runs until 2029, but he could be allowed to leave reportedly for €50m next summer.
The LaLiga champions are keeping a close eye on the situation as they prepare for life without Luka Modric. The Croatian midfielder is in the final year of his contract and hasn't signed a new deal yet.
Modric will turn 40 next September, and Larsson's arrival could help in his succession plans at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Manchester United and Liverpool are already plotting to ruin Los Blancos' plans.
